We are currently recruiting for a Risk Management Lead to join our Project Planning Unit, based at our client's headquarters in Gloucester.

Main responsibilities:

  • Leading the implementation of an overall risk management framework for the Portfolio
  • Defining, developing and maintaining the risk management processes and tools to support effective risk management across the Portfolio
  • Working with other Programme Control colleagues to ensure the effective interaction of risk performance with schedule, cost and quality performance
  • Providing support and training in the implementation of 'fit for purpose' risk management practices, including driving the sharing of learning and continuous improvement across the organisation and its supply chain
  • Establishing and executing an effective means of monitoring and assuring the consistent use of 'fit for purpose' risk management practices across the organisation and its supply chain
  • Contributing to the assurance that safety is the overriding priority across the Portfolio through effective application of risk management practice
  • Acting as the SME for risk management across the Portfolio
  • Ability to engage tactfully but robustly with colleagues and the supply chain to address issues where risk management standards are not being adhered to
  • Owning the Horizon risk management system and ensuring integrity of the risk data at all times
  • Educating and training others in the appropriate use of the organisations risk management system
  • Working with IT to manage and develop the risk management system, or other risk applications

Essential, Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrate a track record of success, achievement and learning in career to date, adding value within relevant positions
  • Extensive Programme and/or Project Controls experience that has been gained in large, complex environments, whether operations, maintenance, capital or revenue
  • Significant experience in the implementation of new risk management solutions, including development of key performance indicators, limits systems and reporting requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence at a senior level
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to drive the successful influence and challenge of colleagues and the supply chain in relation to upholding 'fit for purpose' Risk Management standards
  • Excellent analysis capabilities coupled with a reliable and structured personal method of working
  • Sound skills of MS Office and risk management applications
  • Used to work in multi-cultural environments
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and decision making
  • High levels of personal impact and influence
  • Ability to learn, adapt and thrive, delivering value in a changing and evolving organisation
