Job Description :
Key Responsibility Areas:
Work under instruction with the TRM Hybrid Lead Engineer for AESA CDT supporting engineering activities across all TRM delivery for antenna systems currently in work. (GRIPEN V2.7, RADAR1 V4, OSPREY WOMBAT).
Responsible for collating data on TRM performance across the manufacturing and supply base to support manufacturing and carry out analysis of data against project requirements to understand impacts at system level.
Track Key Performance Indicators (Yield, Cost, Defects).
Track and maintain module drawing set configurations.
Investigate defect reports; identify root causes and potential corrective action where possible. Carry out test and debug activities on pattern faults where required.
Develop an understanding of key components performance (TRM/C Control ASIC, MMIC devices) and usage in TRMs to support current and new TRM/C developments.
Have a good understanding of TRM supply chain technologies and support supplier requirements across product range.
Update designs to help reduce cost, replace obsolete components and improve manufacturing processes.
Support the Design Process defined in engineering plans and show compliance to the process with evidence of review gateways being completed.
A basic understanding of electronics and hardware design process.
A motivated and driven individual, able to work under supervision or on their own.
A willingness to take responsibility for activities and deliver solutions to problems.
The ability to use initiative to solve problems.
Able to work as part of a team.
Degree in Electronic Engineering (preferable) or related science (e.g. Physics) with specialism in RF Microwave electronic circuits. Also experience in Hardware Development and Production delivery.
Beneficial skills & experience for this role that you may have:
Experience in hybrid manufacture techniques (auto-bond, pick-place, module sealing, handling etc).
Experience in fault investigation and root cause identification and fix.
Experience of working with suppliers.
Experience of working with a range of projects/customers across AESA antenna developments.
Experience of broad range of key component manufacture and performance (Digital Electronics, GaAs MMICs, Substrate technologies, packaging technologies).
Experience of a range of hybrid electrical test techniques (RF and DC control). You may have some familiarity with S-parameter manipulation.
Experience of data manipulation (excel, mini-tab or similar).
Some understanding of AESA electrical and RF performance requirements.
An understanding of TRM functionality and application in AESA systems.
Skills in analysis of system level documents, requirement specifications and specification of detailed hardware requirements.
Familiarity with work package management, including; generation of a WBS, scheduling, performance measurement (earned value) and risk management process.
Experience in the design of electrical circuits employing the company staged design processes including understanding of design for manufacture and design for test.
Experience in the preparation of manufacturing data packs.
Knowledge and experience in Data management and Configuration Control.
Experience in technical support to sub-contracts and engineering interface with manufacturing.
Some experience in development test and design verification.
Experience of several lifecycle phases.
A broad knowledge of tools and processes, used in the design, development and delivery of products.
