Research Engineer (Maritime Signatures - Signal Processing)

ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK develop, supply and support cutting-edge maritime technology for customers worldwide. Based in Winfrith, Dorset, they work closely with the UK Royal Navy to create products which protect lives at sea.

Research opportunities at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK will give you the opportunity to work in an innovative cutting-edge environment, undertaking research and leading on its exploitation for the direct benefit of their customers.

With no two days the same, research roles at ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK will provide you with the opportunity to be involved in: development of new signal processing algorithms; application of machine learning techniques to interrogate data sets of interest; development of numerical simulation tools; undertaking laboratory experiments; working within system design teams providing key technical input; or even working onboard naval platforms setting to work equipment and training ships staff.

What we are looking for in you

You don't have to have defence domain experience, however a keen interest in the sector and underwater technology is a must! Research roles in the Signatures department would typically suit individuals who have knowledge of signal processing and data analysis techniques and/or machine learning.

You will be educated to PhD/Degree level (or equivalent) in Physics or Mathematics (or similar related degree) with strong numerical, research and communication skill and an inquisitive mind.
