The purpose of the role is to provide Logistics Support for spares, tools and test equipment to support Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) in use with UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
Daily responsibility for Stores functions and inter-departmental liaison, co-ordinating associated tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Placing demands for spares and main equipment's on MOD Log IS Systems.
Liaison with company Engineering Technical Service Managers in reference to demands placed and movement of company equipment.
Ensure that goods are checked and receipted onto MOD Log IS Systems and subsequently located within the appropriate Stores location.
Conducting stock checks in accordance with JSP 886 and ensuring that MOD records reflect accurate spares, tools and test equipment holding information.
Ensuring that the Sealand Engineering ERP system is updated with movement details of any items repaired (receipts, despatches and on-site movements).
Disposal of equipment spares, tools and test equipment in accordance with the company and MOD processes and procedures.
Operating Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) such as Fork Lift Truck (FLT).
Control of the Sealand vehicle fleet including issuing of fuel cards and mileage returns.
Ensure any facilities issues are reported in a timely manner and tracked to completion.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Personal Qualities
A minimum of 2 years previous experience in a MOD Stores environment (essential).
A sound understanding Logistics and Inventory Management within the JSP 886 Framework (essential), with a working knowledge of managing:
Spares support to operational environments
- Engineering support/repairs
- Government Furnished Assets/Eqpt (GFA/GFE) in accordance with Def Stan 05-99
- Tools and Test Equipment administration
Trained in the use of MOD Log IS Systems:
- Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) Local User (essential)
- Visibility in Transit Asset Logging (VITAL) (essential)
Fork Lift Truck (FLT) counterbalance (essential).
A good standard of Numeracy and Literacy (desirable).
Attention to detail, with the ability to work to tight deadlines (essential).
Ability to work within a team environment and able to take instruction (essential).
Excellent verbal and written skills to interact at all levels within the business and externally (desirable).
Able to manually handle loads of up to 20kg repeatedly.
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) awareness (desirable).
Operate in a constructive and co-operative manner and to uphold and promote the company values (essential).
Support the efficiency of Service Delivery through best practice process and methods.
