Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor will supplement the existing members of the Quantity Surveying and Commercial team and will work across all of the business projects to ensure the Senior Leadership Team has correct, coordinated and concise commercial information to support its decision making. The role of the QS within Chubb systems can be diverse. The successful candidate will be expected to interact in professional discussion, presentation and information sharing with a wide range of teams including (but not limited to) the SLT, The Finance Department, The Commercial Department and the Technical Department.

The day to day responsibilities of the successful candidate will include maintaining contractual documentation and providing specialist assistance on post contract matters where required, preparation and submission of interim valuations and applications for payment, including negotiation with the customer and their consultants and post contract liaison with subcontractors, consultants and suppliers. The QS will also take ownership of commercial contract administration (including the management of necessary core records) and the monthly assessment of the commercial progress of subcontractors, consultants and suppliers- including the issuance of appropriate payment certificates and payless notices.

In order to be considered for this positions, candidates should have a Bsc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent) and also possess membership (or be working toward) membership of a professional body, such as RICS. Candidates should also have a good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building, Civil Engineering and Build sing Services industry, including experience of the JCT standard suit of Contracts and the NEC 2 & 3 suites of contracts. A full UK driving license is essential.
