Quantity Supervisor / Commercial Lead

Vital Projects, a Project Organisation delivering multifunctional packages of Railway Infrastructure Renewal, Refurbishment and Remodel - are looking to develop their Commercial Team in Scotland Route. We are looking for a strong Quantity Surveyor, to oversee commercial coordination of both a National Framework, as well as an array of special projects.

The suitable candidate will be experienced in management and control of commercial aspects of multiple concurrent schemes, competent in application, certification, change control administration and negotiation, as well as able to input and assist to tender submissions when applicable.

Qualities include;

  • Leading estimation of materials, time and labour costs on multifunctional rail infrastructure projects
  • Engagement of subcontractors
  • Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
  • Coordination and review of work effort
  • Advising on a range of legal and contractual issues
  • Valuing completed work and arranging for payments
  • Leading commercial reporting to Senior Management

Start Date - ASAP

Duration - Permanent (contract opportunity negotiable)

Location - Bellshill, Scotland

Salary / Rate of pay - Highly competitive renumeration package (dependant on experience and qualification)

Competency / Qualifications Required

  • Qualified Quantity Survey (Degree preferred, Chartership - or working towards desirable)
  • 5+ years in contractual quantity surveying role, preferably in Rail sector
  • Skilled in MS Excel use and report compilation is imperative
  • Strong character, able to work in a fast-paced construction team
  • Negotiation skills
  • Proactive and engaging
