Role and Responsibilities -
Drive a culture based on nuclear safety and quality throughout the project and to help develop an understanding within the team of nuclear quality, acting as a role model for the internal team and all interfaces associated with the nuclear project

Key Responsibilities:
Working with the customer, the internal team and all other interfaces to develop and maintain an agreed and approved Contract Quality Assurance Plan for the project.
Identify and catalogue the Quality Related Activities (QRAs) associated with the project delivery and ensure approval for these and how they are managed is obtained from the client
Identify and catalogue the Quality Related Activities (QRAs) associated with the supply chain and ensure approval for these and how they are managed is obtained from the client
Ensure the Contract Quality Assurance Plan objectives, targets, and action plans are measured and managed at each level of the project organisation
Act as primary contact regarding all matters relating to the management of quality within the project
Be the point of contact with the Customer for Quality audit reports, non-conformances etc.,
Ensure that standards and controls for quality are designed into business processes and managed through effective assurance arrangements.

Deliverables include:
Develop an agreed and approved Contract Quality Assurance Plan for the project
Develop an audit schedule and deliver compliance audits,
Develop the risk-based field quality assurance plan and manage the Field Inspection approach in line with the Contract and Customer's requirements,
Produce quality performance monitoring reports as an input to the management review process and the Customer's performance management reporting schedule,
Provide specialist support to the project team ensuring that thorough understanding of Nuclear Quality across the team
Develop (with relevant owners and stakeholders) appropriate guidance and procedural documentation to ensure all activities carried out are in line with the Contract Quality Assurance Plan
Provide specialist support during Customer and external audits of the project
Liaise with the procurement team to ensure assessments of existing or potential suppliers are effective and in line with the Contract Quality Assurance Plan.

Experience:
Experience in a Quality Management role and the nuclear and construction industry
Expert knowledge of all relevant standards, in particular: ISO9001:2015 and RCC-E (2012)
Experience in the design and implementation of management systems certified to ISO9001

Skills/Qualifications:
Essential:
Effective stakeholder engagement and communication
Practical problem-solving skills and excellent presentation skills
Practical experience in the implementation of field/product installation quality control processes for the nuclear industry
Membership of an appropriate industry body (e.g. CQI)

Desirable:
ISO9001 Lead auditor
Knowledge of other relevant standards, in particular:
IEC 61513 (Nuclear power plants - Instrumentation and control for systems important to safety - General Requirements for systems)
IEC 61508 (Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems)
EN54-16 (Fire Detection and Alarm Systems)
