Morson currently have a vacancy for a Senior Product Assurance Engineer to assist our client based in Portsmouth Naval Base.
The successful candidate will be part of our clients Maritime Services, which provides operational, engineering and technical support to the Royal Navy's surface fleet. Maritime Services strive to achieve the maximum operating capability for the majority of the RN's surface fleet: vessels such as the Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carriers, the Type 45 Destroyers, the Type 23 Frigates, the Hunt Class Minehunters and the Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessels. The Quality team is made up of engineering and quality management professionals, with both military and civilian backgrounds, who collaborate to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the business.
You would be required to liaise across the organisation to ensure that the business is operating safely, efficiently and effectively thereby meeting our ambitions for time, cost and quality. You will have a good understanding of quality management and engineering. You will be capable of working independently in different areas of the business to provide support to project teams and key management functions.
You will be expected to have strong communication skills, with an ability to influence and mentor colleagues to ensure that the business remains compliant with Quality Management Systems. You will be capable of prioritising your work and will understand when to escalate issues as required. The Product Assurance Engineer will be required to undertake investigations as necessary, to identify the root causes of an issue and to recommend mitigating actions.
Your main responsibilities as a Product Assurance Engineer will involve:
Perform routine quality activities with limited supervision and use own initiative to identify potential quality issues affecting the business.
Conduct investigations and embed recommended actions into core business as necessary.
Conduct internal business quality assurance audits as directed.
Promote consistent application of the quality management system across the business by regular engagement and through the correct use of policies, procedures and processes.
Communicate effectively, including the production of concise presentations, reports, and emails.
Influence, engage and encourage colleagues at all levels to develop their working knowledge of quality management.
Proactively manage own development and contribute towards the development of others.
Candidates will be required to achieve UK Security Clearance and pass a Drugs and Alcohol test.
