We have an excellent opportunity for a PROJECT QUALITY ENGINEEER with our Client within the Nuclear Industry based in Cumbria.

The Project you would be working on is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield’s 100 year clean up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original waste plants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building.

The project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants, carried out in line with the Employer needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Box Encapsulation Project (BEP).


The PROJECT QUALITY ENGINEER role Involves:

To review, and endorsed as appropriate, Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans undertaking associated compliance verification activities as appropriate.

Understand and implement the processes necessary for the provision of timely appropriate Quality support to other Delivery Team departments.

Conduct Quality audits of the site activities and sub-contractor operations on site, and off site as directed, in accordance with the Project Audit Schedule.

Ensure quality standards of the Project are consistently met, raising the authorised project documentation where this is not the case.


THE ROLE REQUIRES

5 plus years Sellafield and / or Nuclear experience working in a QA function or QC function with development into QA via lead audit and CQI membership.

Oversight of subcontractors, compilation and review of lifetime records.

Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems and Sellafield CQRM.

Maintenance of package status and progress reporting, raising issues and liaising with the project and client QA/QC team

ISO 9001 Lead auditor

CQI membership

QC qualifications CSWIP/PCN/ICORR in welding inspection/NDT and Coatings desirable but not essential

The ability to obtain BPSS is essential for this role.

Knowledge of General MS Office Package
