Purchasing Assistant - Permanent Role - Widnes

JOB PURPOSE
- To be the focal point for all purchase order queries. Overseeing the full gamut of purchasing, vendor set up, receipt and process of all purchasing requisitions in accordance with the business needs and quality procedures.
- To co-ordinate with all department concerning order requirements, receipting and invoicing. Closely liaising with finance and site manager to insure that all orders are agreed for processing and are being costed to the correct finance area.
- To provide information and support to both the department inputting the request and the finance team, in paying and clearing the invoices in a timely manner.
- Raising material codes on SAP master data, keeping prices on material codes up to date
- To be the SAP superuser for all purchasing questions.
- Training departments in both the raising and editing of PR and goods receipting and cancellations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Processing PR in line with business guidelines
- Sending PO to vendors and answering any queries or redirecting were necessary.
- Checking both order acknowledgements and invoices against PO and highlighting where PO should be closed and additional PO put on.
- Highlighting when there is no PR in the system but invoice has been received.
- Setup material codes/amending material codes and prices in SAP
- Running reports for the site manager.
- Dealing with telephone enquiries.
- Team working with customer service to give the best service possible.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The role requires that the individual manages purchasing issues for Widnes plant. Polices all requests and invoices to help implement a smooth flow from point of order to payment.
SAP knowledge is essential. Previous purchasing experience is an advandage.
