Propulsion Performance & Control Engineer

Ankara, Turkey – 2-5 year contract – Net package of £65,000 to £84,000 per annum (after tax has been deducted)

Would you like to provide Engineering Expertise in Propulsion Performance and Control Design to develop an air vehicle? We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Propulsion Performance and Control Design Specialist working with our highly experienced team in the cosmopolitan city of Ankara, Turkey. You will be working on a next generation fighter aircraft project in a joint development between UK & Turkish industry.

You will be Responsible for Propulsion Performance and Control through to preliminary design maturity. Accountable to the Vehicle Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead.


  • To support the design, development and specification of an integrated propulsion system with optimised control solution including:-

-             Requirements capture and management.

-             Architecture definition, trade studies and specification.

-             Supplier selection, management and equipment engineering.

-             System analysis, safety analysis, modelling and simulation.

-             System integration at Air Vehicle level; Interface with Airframe Design.

-             Qualification, certification and verification planning.

-             Support development of plans, programmes and statements of work.

  • Deliver work to agreed time, cost and quality. Report progress and raise issues to manager
  • Lead and contribute to meetings and present work to customer, management and other stakeholders.
  • Operate under the governance of the Chief Engineer and appropriate company procedures.



  • Degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering related subject
  • Extensive relevant background in aircraft propulsion systems, propulsion control systems and integration with aircraft systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Good team worker but able to operate autonomously as required


Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the project involved all candidates will be required to undertake a full UK MOD Security Clearance (SC level) before starting. If the applicant is already SC cleared this will be transferred to the clients UK headquarters for the full duration of the project.

This is for an initial period of 2 years and up to a maximum of 5 years, offering the following benefits in addition to a competitive base salary:
