Our client is looking for Project Support Officer to work within the WBSI Project Team in Keynsham working within ITAR regulations. You will be charged with delivery of Design, Integrated Logistic Support and Programme Support to the MoD UK `new build' and `in-service' submarine fleet across all classes of vessels.
From system feasibility analyses of engineering problems and solutions, to fully incorporated design changes the business to support the entire design lifecycle. They are the key component ensuring that the nation's nuclear submarines are available and ensure the nuclear deterrent is always maintained.
Main Purpose of Role
Support the development of Project Control outputs that enable Control Account Managers (CAMs) to be held to account for delivery of their Project and Business commitments.
Analysis of performance applying Earned Value Management methodology where applicable. Identify deviations from baseline Project Control positions and recommend corrective actions where necessary. Provide guidance to the wider Programme Management Office (PMO) as necessary.
Monitor and control project information held within the chosen Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool. Maintaining status and generation of coding logic of work activities in line with contracts and current policy and the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
In conjunction with the wider PMO, prepare, maintain, analyse and provide Project Management Information to enable the monitoring and control of the contracts.
Undertake the Requisitioner role, as required, to ensure the timely raising of purchase orders, payment of invoices and provision of preferred supplier timesheet data (as required). Check and obtain approval of invoices.
To provide advice on Project and Programme Management tools, techniques and processes to support the Dreadnought PMO and the wider Enterprise.
As required, review timesheet bookings to ensure all unassigned/missing/erroneous hours are corrected for the Period End financial reporting. Where appropriate support the upload of hours into the ERP tool(s).
Point of contact for the Allocated Departments / CAM areas.
Support the delivery of Project improvement and Change Management activities Reporting, monitoring and control of Key Performance Indicators.
To promote and represent the company in a professional and responsible manner.
The post holder should be capable of working professionally, interacting across multiple stakeholders, providing a project management focus.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external staff, at all levels within the Submarine Enterprise, including senior management.
Good analytical skills and the ability to think logically are essential attributes.
A working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Information Management System(s) would be an advantage e.g. IFS.
Experience of Business Information Management System(s) would be an advantage.
Good working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Project and Word) and Primavera.
At least 2 years' experience of working in a project based environment using up to date project management methods.
Preferably, HNC qualified in a relevant discipline with some relevant experience, or OND/ONC qualified with significant relevant experience.
Preferably hold an Association for Project Management Fundamentals Certificate or equivalence.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
