Project Support Officer required to provide project support and data analyses expertise to the Project.
Working directly with the release Managers, Project Management Office (PMO) Manager and Project Controllers this role supports the delivery of the capability releases by providing data analyses support to the release managers and work package managers. The role also supports the PMO Manager in producing the project reporting to facilitate successful reviews which enable good decision making.
Key to the role is to integrate into the project management team, in order to assist the RMs in key decision making and provide guidance and coaching to the project team. The Project Support Officer should understand the project status to a level where they can make informed analysis of any changes to the trackers
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Maintain Capability Release Trackers providing the Capability Release managers with up to date progress and performance data and provide the relevant data analysis to support decision making and inform the planning and execution of the capability releases.
Responsible for producing the Monthly Internal Dashboard Report, ensuring that all sections are completed by the relevant owners to a sufficient standard.
Maintain booking codes in Oracle and produce weekly time booking reports to the Work Package Managers, facilitating the team's time bookings and supporting the WPMs in maintaining control of their work packages.
Assist in the Maintenance of Visual Display Boards, with the emphasis on displaying progress against schedule and key milestones.
Adhere to the specification and implementation of best practise for project control standards and procedures for reporting in line with corporate policies.
Support the Project Controls team in other tasks as required on an ad hoc basis.
Some or all of the following skills would be preferred:
Demonstrated ability to work to specified timescales and expected deliveries, whilst displaying the drive to achieve work-related goals.
Has an understanding of the project management & control process that includes change control, risk management, planning & information management.
Has an understanding of the project life cycle for complex programmes with an understanding of Development, Production and Long Term Support activities.
Excellent knowledge / application of Microsoft Office suite particularly the application of data analysis & summarisation techniques such as pivot tables & charting using Microsoft Excel as well as macros.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Able to analyse and interpret underlying causes, themes & trends, whilst also being able to think through the consequences of different options and solutions and communicate these to the project team.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
Literacy level and report writing skills should meet requirements to produce short presentations, flow-charts or mini-reports suitable for distribution to senior management.
Numeracy level should be aligned with the need to carry out detailed investigation of cost variance(s) and publishing of financial information directly into Company financial reports.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
