P6 Project Planner with an aerospace/defence background required to develop & maintain schedule(s) (in P6 and/or Microsoft Project) for the Control Account Managers (CAMs); using data from the MoD requirement, ensuring the correct level of logic is incorporated to deliver the project outputs.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Liaise with the PMO Senior Planner for Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) updates, ensuring the interdependencies are clearly identified.
Maintain project baseline data and ensure that strict configuration and change control is employed.
Develop and update individual network programmes, deadline dates & plans to meet all Project requirements in conjunction with internal Project Managers & MoD stakeholders (if appropriate).
Carry out periodic update of programmes to identify deviations from baseline and recommend corrective actions.
Assist with creating baseline, forecasts, dashboards and system reports.
Assign resource as directed by PMO Management / CAMs and generate Resource Loading Profiles to confirm resource availability.
Resolve and report all system issues.
Comply with Programme scheduling practices and procedures
To promote and represent the businessin a professional and responsible manner.
To provide advice on Project and Programme Management tools, techniques and processes to support the PMO and the wider Enterprise.
In conjunction with the wider PMO, prepare, maintain, analyse and provide Project Management Information to enable the monitoring and control of the contracts.
Support the delivery of Project improvement activities across the organisation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences
Proven experience as a project planner /scheduler.
Extensive knowledge of and adept in the use of Primavera P6 and MS Project planning tools to create Work, Product and Organisational Breakdown Structures and schedules..
Good working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Project and Word).
The post holder should be capable of working professionally, interacting across multiple stakeholders, providing a project management focus.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external staff, at all levels within the Submarine Enterprise, including senior management.
Good analytical skills and the ability to think logically are essential attributes.
A working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Information Management System(s) would be an advantage.
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline with relevant experience or HNC/HND qualified with significant relevant experience.
Hold a Project Management Qualification such as Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification or PRINCE2.
There will be some remote working with this role, likely to involve 3 days/week on site in Bristol.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
