Our defence client BAE Systems Warton (Preston) is looking to recruit a number of PMs with excellent Microsoft Office Excel and Project Skills and good with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook for hybrid working roles. Please note that you must be based in the UK and will need to attend a  site on the first day to collect IT and you will likely have to work 1 - 2 days/week on site but this would be discussed at interview and for some roles this might not be for a few months and might be less frequent. 

There are 2 levels of Project Delivery roles paying £15.41 or £22/hour on a PAYE basis or £19.50 or £27.85/hour on an Umbrella company basis. Candidates can come from any background ie automotive, construction, defence, financial services, nuclear or rail.

The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:

Develop, maintain and manage key relationships with sub-contractors, customers and other stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are achieved and that issues are effectively addressed

Lead a multi-disciplined team consisting of engineering, commercial, project management etc., to ensure that both the customers and business requirements are met, whilst ensuring that all management/ commercial aspects are well documented

Lead, control and monitor projects so that they are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality requirements, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and where necessary, intervening to resolve issues which threaten delivery to plan

Ensure that all aspects of the projects are fully defined to ensure customer requirements are achieved in accordance with all business and commercial criteria

Proactively manage emerging risks and opportunities to the benefit of the project/programme

Support bid and tendering processes to ensure bids meet customer needs, in line with business& commercial criteria that all risks are assessed effectively, and that bids are realistic and winnable

Develop accurate estimates in support of bids, annual budgets or cost to completion, and analyse 'spend to date' data

The Individual

Strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

Ability to influence multiple stakeholders and interact confidently management. Have the ability to digest and exchange complex information together with strong problem-solving skills.

Ability to balance sometimes conflicting priorities and respond to tight timescales whilst keeping all stakeholders engaged. Have a high level of self-motivation and flexibility, with the ability to operate independently of direct management.

Ability to work collaboratively and innovatively to ensure successful delivery of contractual deliverables.

In summary we need someone who can influence a common team objective and drive towards its delivery

The candidate must have good Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook skills

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
