Project Managers with aero/automotive/defence engineering background required by our client BAE Systems at the Warton and Samlesbury sites in Lancashire.

These roles will for the moment involve remote working but candidates must be prepared to work full time on site at some point during the 12 month contract once the sites fully reopen.

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for defining, planning, managing and delivering assigned projects to meet customer and business requirements.

The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:

Develop, maintain and manage key relationships with sub-contractors, customers and other stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are achieved and that issues are effectively addressed

Lead a multi-disciplined team consisting of engineering, commercial, project management etc., to ensure that both the customers and business requirements are met, whilst ensuring that all management/ commercial aspects are well documented

Lead, control and monitor projects so that they are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality requirements, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and where necessary, intervening to resolve issues which threaten delivery to plan

Ensure that all aspects of the projects are fully defined to ensure customer requirements are achieved in accordance with all business and commercial criteria

Proactively manage emerging risks and opportunities to the benefit of the project/programme

Support bid and tendering processes to ensure bids meet customer needs, in line with business& commercial criteria that all risks are assessed effectively, and that bids are realistic and winnable

Develop accurate estimates in support of bids, annual budgets or cost to completion, and analyse 'spend to date' data

The Individual

Educated to degree level or equivalent - business or engineering desirable

You can demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

You can influence multiple stakeholders and interact confidently management.

Ability to digest and exchange complex information together with strong problem-solving skills.

You're able to balance sometimes conflicting priorities and respond to tight timescales whilst keeping all stakeholders engaged.

Have a high level of self-motivation and flexibility, with the ability to operate independently of direct management.

The ability to work collaboratively and innovatively to ensure successful delivery of contractual deliverables is also required.

Good skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook

Communication, Team Working and Motivation are essential
