Morson International are currently recruiting an experienced Project Manager to work on an exciting new project within the marine defence industry. Our client are a successful engineering company who manufacture precision engineered products into a range of different industries. This role will be responsible for a new project with a customer based in Taiwan so there will be an element of travel involved.
You should be an experienced Project Manager who has an engineering background with first class stakeholder management skills and worked on highly complex projects.
The Project Manager (Taiwan) will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget and within scope.
Reporting to the Sales Director and working alongside the Project Managers, the Project Manager (Taiwan) will take responsibility for specific sub projects within major contracted projects.
This role is of strategic importance to and requires a high integrity individual with technical and commercial skills, the Project Manager (Taiwan) will be a team player, with strong skills in getting the best out of people and the projects that they oversee.
The Project Manager (Taiwan) will be an ambassador and role model for my client and will act with integrity and in accordance with company policies at all times.
Roles in the project team exist in order to drive customer satisfaction through effective execution on key projects. The Project Manager (Taiwan) will be the key customer contact to maintain day to day operational aspects of the project delivery, will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient communication and implementation of the project.
Key Duties & Responsibilities include all aspects of project management for my client, including, but not limited to: -
Creating, delivering and maintain project work plans to ensure on time delivery of projects.
Identify resources, assign responsibilities and manage performance on project deliverables.
Ensure management, maintenance and completion of project documents.
Ensure appropriate storage, distribution and maintenance of project documents.
Understand and meet financial obligations of project.
Collate and submit timely project status reports to stakeholders.
Participate in / lead customer meetings relating to project, ensure proactive engagement with customer including regular site visits where required.
Manage and prioritise tasks using my clients project management tools (Action Tracker, Gant Chart, Governance, Lessons Learnt, 3C, Risk Register etc).
Where appropriate engage with operations to ensure that manufacturing is aligned to project requirements.
Coordinate and lead teams between departments including Engineering, QA, Procurement, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
Ensure continued communication and good relationships with external and internal customers.
Report and escalate to management where appropriate.
Carrying out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
Qualifications and Experience
An experienced project manager with an engineering background (degree or equivalent educated), educated in formal project management is essential e.g. APMP or Prince 2 certified.
Ability to speak and write in English Language fluently is essential.
Ability to speak and write in Mandarin is desirable but not essential.
Ability to operate within a global, forward thinking business with a balance of working both strategically and operationally.
Highly organised, calm individual who is a positive progressive motivator with good multi- cultural skills e.g. awareness, sensitivity and communication skills.
High levels of IT Skills are essential to this role and extremely proficient in MS programs working knowledge of MS project is an additional benefit.
High standard individual who looks to produce the best and has a constant desire to improve.
