A Project Manager with BD experience and a defence background is required to work for our leading defence client on an initial 12 month contract as a Business Growth Support Expert supporting the sales manager to achieve the business goals. This role will require a mix of BD, technical and PM skills and will act as a bridge between capture and delivery, working mainly on back office actions to make sure that the front office runs efficiently. This will be a mix of remote working and working on site in Guildford.

It is critical that you can effectively interface with other internal functional areas of the business that deliver products and services into live projects and you will need to manage projects in accordance with company practices and procedures.

You will need to be able to work with tight deadlines, and be able to prioritise effectively because there will be multiple opportunities to support.

There will be times when you will need to represent the business in meetings with Customers where customer enchantment and commercial awareness are key. Concise communication across internal and external audiences at all levels is essential.

Key Skills/Requirements

Customer Relationship experience

Engineering experience in order to support multiple opportunities

Wide experience in the Defence field (ideally in ISR)

Project Management training ideally with one of the following qualifications; Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP®), PRINCE 2

Experience of Agile ways of working would be advantageous

Building and maintaining internal and external stakeholder management

Team leadership including negotiation and influencing

Problem solving; the Business growth support expert must take ownership of issues, discussion of solutions and responsibility for driving to successful completion

Self-reliance, enthusiasm and decisiveness

Strong organisation and time management with ability to plan, prepare and prioritise

Communication; clearly and effectively at all levels

To be able to present technical solutions to customers

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
