Project Manager with experience of aerospace/automotive engineering projects is required by our Burnley based aerospace client to work on site and project manage all rate readiness activity for the specified programme, ensuring that the business is ready to build at the rate required by the production demand profile.

The role involves but is not limited to the following:

Ensure internal and external supply chains are able to produce and deliver to the correct quality and delivery requirements, for planned production rates
Ensure internal and external supply chains have proven industrial performance at required level

Evaluate and validate production unit commitments for achievability
Coordinate engineering specialist activities during ramp up
Establish availability rates
Ensure any planned design or configuration changes are properly planned and risk assessed before being launched, so as not to impact ability to deliver product
Validate industrial (plant, machines, tooling etc.) and human resource levels are sufficient to produce at the required rate.
Monitor Industrial performance (OTD, cost of production, quality) for all internal industrial resources and highlight any risks to the production schedule
Provides guidance for manufacturing and lead-time reduction opportunities
Plan and run READY and BOOST tests to prove manufacturing capacity

Key Relationships / Stakeholders
Actively participate in IPT meetings with colleagues
Participate in and drive cross-functional projects
Provide training/advice and guidance to the manufacturing team as required
Support the transfer of work between company's/suppliers sites
Represent the business in the face of customers / trade bodies


Knowledge, Experience, Training and Qualifications

Degree/HND (Engineering / Manufacturing) or equivalent experience
Project management experience and or qualifications
French Language skills - Desirable
Manufacturing experience from leading edge environments - Desirable
Lean Manufacturing Skills - Desirable
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques - Desirable
Broad knowledge of metallic and composite materials - Desirable
Knowledge of SAP and S&OP processes - Desirable
