Working within Finance Services and reporting to the Projects Portfolio Manager, the role holder will be a hands on Project Manager directly responsible for all elements of delivering customer funded and internally funded projects within a dynamic Shared Services environment.
They will be responsible for the full project lifecycle from developing the initial business case, developing and delivering plans, effectively managing multiple stakeholders managing risks and issues through to project completion.
The role is key to ensuring that the projects are delivered in line with customer requirements and is an essential part of Finance Services achieving its business plan and strategic objectives.
*Managing customer funded and internally funded / capital projects from scoping, business case, delivery cut over and business change.
*Providing local day to day management of diverse on site / virtual project teams.
*Development of business cases
*Development of Project Management Plans and schedules ensuring that the delivery of the projects is in line with the agreed schedules.
*Monitoring overall progress, manage risks, opportunities and resolve issues as required to keep the project on track to its agreed baseline and objectives.
*Forecasting resource requirements
*Responsible for the governance and integrity of the project
*Ensuring the appropriateness of the solution, defining, aligning and adhering to agreed ways of working.
*Managing the projects budget, predicting and managing costs, planned and actuals as the project progresses.
*Ensuring the project is delivered in line with tailored BAE Systems Lifecycle management and Finance Services Project Management processes
*Management of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation including Customers, external vendors, Operational resource, Finance Services Senior Management, IT suppliers, Group Legal.
The individual must be a highly proficient and experienced project manager.
*Project Management qualifications e.g. APM/PMI/Prince2
*Thorough understanding of the Project Management lifecycle and its application to the delivery of business solutions
*Strong stakeholder Management skills - used to operating at all levels of the organisation with multiple stakeholders including customers, suppliers, partners and sub-contractors. Able to influence and communicate.
*Understanding of Business Change Management
*Ability to balance project objectives from a cost / benefit, schedule, technical and quality perspective
*Experience of producing, presenting and gaining business case approval
*Experience of scheduling and estimating
*Planning, Monitoring and control experience
*Risk and Opportunity Management experience
*MS Project and MS Excel Proficiency
*Leadership & People Management Skills
*Experience of a Finance Services organisation / Finance processes
*Experience of ERPs
*Transformation programme experience
