We are recruiting for a Project Manager for our Client to be based in Birmingham B46 1JU. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. Standard Office (9am - 5pm). On offer is a competitive salary.

General Overview:

Responsible to deliver the construction of new connections and heat stations on existing heat networks within the greater midlands area.

The key deliverable for this role is the effective management of the construction (CHP, gas Boilers, chilled water, District heating and cooling, HV network,).

Responsibilities / Duties include:

  • To manage the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil through a diverse set of electrical project manager, Site Managers, and coordinate with the Engineers, Designers, planners, QS
  • Produce bill of quantity/materials take off
  • Ensuring all deliverables are to standard and specification
  • Manage the project to ensure all contractual aspects between clients and Contractors, ensuring the compliance of all parties, particularly with respect to completion of Project prior to programmed operational start date
  • To adhere to project delivery systems and procedures
  • To manage the timely production of O&M manuals in relation with the Lead designer
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with project sponsors and other key
  • Produce weekly/monthly construction progress report
  • Carry out the Principle Contractor role and or the Client role under CDM 2015
  • Manage the Considerate Constructor
  • To work with the planner to track, monitor and report project status to senior management
  • Effective Planning, allocation and management of resources
  • Comply at all times with Clients policies and procedures
  • Manage construction budget and produce financial monthly report
  • Coordinate with the Commissioning Manager
  • Responsible of the quality of the delivery
  • Coordination with operation team
  • Carry out project reporting in line with required deadlines
  • Identify, monitor, mitigate and manage project and operational risks
  • Establish and maintain good supplier relations to ensure effective delivery and quality of Installations
  • Maintain a solution based approach to problems


  • HNC/Degree level required in either a mechanical or electrical discipline
  • CSCS Project Manager Card
  • SMSTS Qualified
  • Engineering and or Civil experience
  • Experience of delivering a portfolio of multi-million-pound M&E/Civil Projects with a diverse project delivery team
  • Extensive Project Management Experience
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • District Heating / Heat Network experience desirable
