Morson International are looking to recruit a Project Manager to support a large Transportation Client based in the Manchester area.
The main accountabilities for this role will be supporting the on-going development/ implementation of a robust Portfolio, Programme and Project Management Procedural framework.
You would work within the Client's developmental programme management framework, and focus your attentions on the enhancement and further development of their programme management, assurance and commissioning service to enable results that are quality driven, auditable, measurable and that support the efficient functionality of projects and programme teams.
You will also manage, control and/or deliver projects of work to meet defined objectives, primarily at the strategic outline/ outline and full business case stages of scheme development (pre-construction).
The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience in Project Management, with a combined ability to build successful relationships. The creation of a united approach in supporting the Client's Programme teams, enabling the effective delivery of their programme priorities, leading/ assisting with specific project requests where required, whilst ensuring that PMO processes, procedures and records are developed and properly in place to enable the effective on-going functioning of the programme teams is key to the success.
You will need to be administratively proficient, as this role also requires an elevated level of attention to detail, a skill that will be beneficial in the generation of the monthly portfolio reporting process, preparation of reporting templates, collation of programme reports, and production of the monthly board and sponsor reporting reports in accordance with challenging deadlines.
You will support the development of Strategic Outline and Full Business Case development, including modelling and appraisal (pre-construction). Budgetary management, combined with the ability to support the tendering process to select contracts for the delivery of services, and provide ongoing oversight to, and engagement with, large suppliers/contractors to ensure maximum value for money.
You should have demonstrable credibility, complemented by sound understanding of project and programme management principles.
