Project Management Officer with extensive experience of working within a project management team and proven experience of managing large amounts of project financial data in a complex environment is required to join the Capability Acquisitions team to support the management of a portfolio of project activity through effective use of project control processes.

The Project Management Officer will provide project coordination and support through all phases of the project lifecycle, maintain financial control on all aspects of the portfolio including actual costs incurred and forecast spend and manage all financial claims with HVMC central or other funding bodies. The PMO will also create the overall programme management portfolio of reporting for the management board and coordinate all inputs from the Programmes team for the reporting cycle.

The role involves but is not limited to the following:

Portfolio support for budget

Responsible for the budget management of a large and complex portfolio of projects on an annual basis; including:

WBS level budget management

Project level budget management

Funding allocation across core, reach and plus

Capital & revenue allocation

Produce status reports for weekly management meetings and team meetings to facilitate fact-based decision making for TPMs

Carry out general administration activities to support the TPM, PSM or HofP including meeting coordination, quarterly review preparation,

Maintain an active portfolio of internal pipeline projects in the NCC register (wish list)

Provide information to internal and external meetings as required, understanding who the stakeholders are and actively engage and communicate with them.

Work with PMs to establish FCTC and FCAC for all catapult projects

Finance Control

Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements including;

Project Financial Status reports

Sales and Operations planning forecasts through plans

Resource plans

Support and prepare quarterly claims to HVMC central

Maintain all WINMAN project data including Sales Order Values, FCTC, Project completion dates, percentage complete

Setup job codes to capture project costs under correct revenue streams

Raise all project related purchase orders

Create all member statements both monthly and annual statements

Process Improvements

Champion PM best practice and lead by example in implementation of existing and new PMO processes and procedures

Act as the senior PMO within the programmes team to provide guidance on process development and adherence

Act as the lead PMO in improvement projects as part of the continuous improvement cycle or BPR programme


Act as a training support to other PMOs and administration support in the NCC on WINMAN activities

Support the financial team in the production of project related data

Support nominated ECM in general administration tasks including PO creation, training logs, booking number identification and meeting creation

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent industrial experience is required as is extensive experience in the use of MS Office; particularly Excel, Project and PowerPoint.

Some or all of the following is also required:

Proven experience managing large amounts of project financial data in a complex environment.

Experience of working in a major engineering OEM

Experience working in a project-management-focused environment

Experience supporting critical projects from a planning, reporting, scheduling and budget-reporting perspective

Analytical, with advanced excel skills and ability to pick up new IT software quickly

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
