Project Engineering Lead is required to take responsibility for delivery of the status and efficient performance of the programme.

The role involves but is not limited to the following:

Responsible for delivering a technical programme efficiently - understanding cost implications, delivery timescales, design assurance, aircraft clearance processes, schedules and reports focusing on improvement and efficiency of the programme

Work closely with Platform Engineering Leads / Project Managers to ensure common methods of working and maximise efficiencies across the IPTs.

Work with IPT`s Leads and PDOs to ensure Maturity Gate Reviews are held and achieved ahead of schedule.

Work with the Project Managers and Engineering Leads within the IPT to maintain Schedule, Cost, Risks and Opportunities.

Manage programme delivery to meet Cost, Time and Quality targets

Co-ordination and ownership of the following activities:

    • Design Review Action Tracker
    • Engineering Reports
    • Engineering Issues sheets
    • Engineering Risks
    • Milestone Charts
    • Design Review charts
    • Tracking Resource requirements

Skills, qualifications & knowledge

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and interact with suppliers, customer and subject matter experts.

Some or all of the following is also required:

A proven track record in schedule adherence and achieving high standards

Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation

Ability to demonstrate and apply system-level thinking

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong experience of leading the delivery of a programme, project or work stream

Strong experience of managing complex issues

Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

Able to manage time effectively, multi-task and meet challenging deadlines

Excellent organisational skills

A logical, proactive and flexible attitude

Able to work under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail

A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline

The programme is based across a number of UK sites, with the Project Control Office in Bristol and with operating bases in the Basildon, Yeovil and Luton sites, travel will be required to these sites as required.

Occasional travel outside the UK, working with suppliers, in particular in Italy.

Confident working with all levels of staff, including Team Management skills

Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Project (2010 and above)

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
