We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer (Construction) to Join our framework delivery team. This is a key role within our Project Management Resource team which is spread across our UK network at all UK sites and stations. You will be part of a large client lead team at Sizewell B Power Station location and this role will support multiple projects within their UK wide project portfolio which may include existing generation, nuclear defueling, nuclear new build and/or nuclear decommissioning.

Project Engineers (Construction) are accountable to the client Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and/or Construction Manager for successful delivery of all aspects of their assigned projects. Project Engineers will support the Project Managers and Construction Manager with the key responsibility for ensuring third party contractors and their staff work to the EDF Energy standards in Safety, Quality, Environment and Productivity.

The role will be based at the Sizewell B Power Station and will require occasional business travel to UK sites/stations. In this role you will report to the Jacobs Operations Manager, but be accountable for project delivery directly to the client.

Strong communication and organisational skills are a must with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks and be results-focussed tempered with a team-centred approach.

Everyone working in our team will need the ability to obtain CTC or SC level UK security clearance.


Here's What You'll Need:
* Typically, HNC or equivalent qualification or experience in an appropriate discipline e.g. civil, C&I, electrical etc.
* Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
* Management of work to high standards of performance in line with Project Procedures and applicable Standards, through the leadership of Setting to Work briefings with safety and quality focus and completion of site surveys and pre job walk downs to ensure all aspects of the work are captured and any special requirements identified and actioned.
* Routinely reviews fleet OPEX and project lessons learned (with post job de-briefs) and applies to improve performance in their work area. Contributes to fleet OPEX and lessons learned with safety audits, safety stand-downs and toolbox talks.
* Management with directions, expectations, and priorities for daily activities with clearly communication to personnel and third-party contractors, followed by reviews of third-party contractor method statements, risk assessments, other documents, and drawings.
* Ensures teams are adequately resourced to carry out the required work to the project schedule, including daily manning levels, and monitoring progress against the project schedule and provides regular reports as required by the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
* Prepares work order cards and supporting documents and drawings. Carries out role of APSA when authorised.
* Perform the duties of a Field Supervisor and performs supervision commensurate with the complexity and importance of the activity to ensure safety and quality of the work performed, by spending time in the field monitoring, observing and assessing performance to maintain and reinforce high standards of work. Aspects monitored include work practices, application of HU tools, application of industrial safety and radiological protection practices, compliance with environmental requirements.
* On occasion the Project Engineer (Construction) may also perform the duty of a Nominated Supervisor.
