We have an excellent opportunity for a PROJECT ENGINEER based on the Westlakes Science Park in Cumbria.

The successful Candidate will be part of the Encrypted Communications team to deliver improved Communications in key facilities across the Sellafield Site.

The Project Engineer must be capable of working without direct supervision and have the ability to translate a client requirement into a meaningful engineering solution.

Good communication skills are essential.

You would be responsible for implementing Engineering Procedures and maintaining the required standards of technical quality in the project work.

Supporting the PM with the management, direction and coordination of the Project Engineering work and interrelation with Project discipline teams.


RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Assisting the Project Manager in preparing Project instructions.
Preparing work plans, schedules and budgets for the Project in conjunction with Discipline Leads for submission to the Project Manager for approval.
Ensuring engineering work on the Project is completed in accordance with agreed company policies and procedures.
Preparing project instructions for engineering work on the project.
Assisting Project Manager in preparing project instructions for communication and coordination between the Company, the customer and other organisations.
Initiating, coordinating and overseeing work on the project and implementing project instructions through the Discipline Leads.

As directed by the PM - monitor project changes, costs and progress on the Project.
Take corrective action to control engineering work within budget and schedule.
Preparing reports as required by the Project Manager.
Keep Project Manager informed of issues encountered in the Project.
Have proficient language skills to permit editing of technical documents, although particular emphasis will be placed on eliminating grammatical and spelling errors.

Carry out designated work packages within defined projects to standards of safety, cost, quality and time.
Use of MS Word and associated MS Office packages.
Strong awareness of client personnel, requirements, standards, procedures and expectations within field of expertise.
Where appropriate, contribute to the development of budgetary procedures, specifications and safety documentation.
Compliance with all legislative, regulatory and company policy, standards and procedures e.g. safety, quality, risk, security etc. applicable to the role

* Track record in a Relevant Lead Engineering Discipline
* An understanding of commercial and contract administration
* Effective communication within team and with stakeholders
* Computer literate &amp experienced in Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to work with and oversee multi discipline tasks across projects.
* Experience in nuclear industry preferred

Preferential Experience:
2 years experience working in a Project Engineer type of role.
Familiar with Sellafield project delivery procedures.
Understanding of Fibre Optic systems
Communications Experience
4G knowledge
