Morson Talent are currently seeking a Project Engineer to work on the behalf of our prestigious aerospace client based in Yeovil, Somerset.
This role is to ensure that design solutions satisfy customer requirements and regulatory criteria, and that appropriate compliance evidence is produced and presented. Working in conjunction with the Engineering Heads of Departments/CPs/TTLs, to ensure that appropriate resource levels are applied to Engineering activities in a timely manner to support Engineering schedule requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Accountable for the engineering aspects programme/project implementation on time, on costs, and on quality in full adherence with key requirements
• Interacting directly with the D&D CP’s to ensure understanding of the adherence to the schedule in terms of cost and schedule
• Ensuring that certification compliance plans, and test and evaluation plans are created and satisfied as part of the design process
• Solving design integration issues where more than one system is involved in the design
• Applying the appropriate Configuration Management processes
• Managing the drawing structure and the applicability of any modification to the fleet (including prototypes)
• Assist in continuing airworthiness management by monitoring in-service arising’s and assisting in any resulting investigations and design or inspection regime changes, if required
• Preparing any necessary Service Bulletins/Engineering Technical Instructions and major repairs (in collaboration with CS&S-PSE) if required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Relevant degree, HNC or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant aerospace role.
• A good working knowledge of helicopter engineering is essential.
• A detailed knowledge of aircraft airworthiness and safety requirements and procedures.
• Experience with Test and Evaluation or Certification
• The ability to communicate well within the Company, and with external agencies.
• Experience of working in cross-functional team environments.
• Experience with leading technical tasks and/or small multi-functional teams.
• Familiarity with the Engineering Directorate’s organisation and structure.
