Project Engineer (PE) with Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management or Continuous Improvement experience required to have full responsibility for the delivery of engineering projects to internal and external requirements. Internal requirements include milestone delivery, budgetary control and resource control; external requirements include aerospace standards, quality standards and specific customer product requirements.
The PE is involved in projects from bid phase through to handover to production. They are required to liaise with all departments of the company (Operations, Finance, Quality, Production) and external customers and suppliers to be successful.
Methodical approach, personal organisation and time management are required characteristics.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Engineering of Aerospace Products.
Project Management of specific projects.
Co-ordination of Company Departments on specific projects.
Liaise with Customer and/or Government Authorities on specific projects.
Design and Development of specific components and systems.
Full Engineering and Project Management responsibility for allocated specific tasks.
The Development, Test, Installation and Commissioning of Aerospace Equipment and Systems.
Delivery of engineering projects in support of customer and company objectives including safety and legal.
Organisation of customer (internal external) facing reviews.
Generation of qualification documentation to customer and certifying body requirements
Coordination of design, manufacture and qualification testing of new products in line with customer requirements and agreed schedule.
Liaise with third party contractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose
Responsible for reporting and tracking of schedule and costs to budget.
Ensuring the global ME 37 step process is used for new concepts and designs
Candidates should have some or all of the following:
Engineering of Aerospace, Defence or Industrial Products.
Rotational Moulding techniques
Plastic material selection for demanding environmental conditions.
Test and Development of New Materials and Processes.
Project Management, delivering on time and in budget.
Practical aspects of Engineering, such as Development, Test, Installation and Commissioning of Products.
Can clearly communicate engineering and programme issues.
Will be comfortable presenting and running meetings with Customers, Government Authorities and internally within the Company.
Will be able to resolve problems using scientific methods.
Required to be computer literate to generate and control project plans. Experience of MS Project preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
Needs to enjoy practical as well as theoretical engineering
