We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer based at Sellafield, Cumbria

Please note this role is inside of IR35

Job Role

The Project Engineer is responsible for implementing Engineering Procedures and maintaining the required standards of technical quality in the project work.
The Project Engineer supports the PM with the management, direction and coordination of the Project Engineering work and interrelation with Project discipline teams.
This person must be capable of working without direct supervision and can translate a client requirement into a meaningful engineering solution. Good communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities will include:
Delivering fit for purpose work in a safe manner to meet or better the project baseline cost, schedule and quality requirements.
Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall project strategies and plans.
Ensuring the relevant project risks are identified and managed/mitigated as appropriate. This includes regular monitoring of the residual risks.
Managing the quality, schedule and cost for the sub project scope to the agreed baseline.
Maintaining effective communications and executing the project strategies within the SSAU project team.
Leading and coaching the team to maximise efficiency and effectiveness to deliver in a timely manner fit for purpose work in a safe manner to meet or better the project baseline cost, schedule and quality requirements.
Maximising Learning from Experience, disseminating and input of LFE across all project stages.
Provision of weekly updates to the Planner, to enable effective progress monitoring and schedule accuracy.
Attendance at daily construction meetings, to support forward planning, preparation and readiness for delivery of the required scope.
Organising site visits to ensure stakeholders are well briefed on progress/issues.
Facilitate in the maintenance of effective integrated project execution plan (PXP).
Provision of response to Early Warning Notices and attendance at weekly commercial meetings.
Progression of timely responses to Technical Queries and Product Permits raised by the main delivery contractor.
Daily liaison with the main contractor delivering the works.
Upward reporting of issues to the Project Manager.
Liaising with the SL construction team and main delivery contractor to ensure the environmental, security and conventional safety constraints are adhered to.
Deputising for the Project Manager, during periods of annual leave or clashing commitments

Qualifications

An understanding of commercial and contract administration
Effective communication within team and with stakeholders
Computer literate & experienced in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work with and oversee multidiscipline and multiple tasks across projects.
Experience in the nuclear industry would be preferred and to work on client premises as required
Preferential Experience:
Familiar with Sellafield project delivery procedures.
Currently BS or SC security cleared would be an advantage
