P6 Project Controller required to join the programme management team on a significant defence project contributing to the delivery of an ATM Programme to the MoD. Based in Whiteley, working in the PMO team you will be an integral part of the Project Management community - in a role which requires application of the full range of project management competencies - including planning, scope and cost management, resource management and data interpretation to contribute to and aid management decision, direction and action.

The principle purpose of the Project Controller (PC) is to drive the implementation of the Project Management and Controls processes for the assigned work scope and lead the business reporting rhythm.
The Project Controller role combines Cost and Scheduling responsibilities into a single integrated role.
Through implementation of the Project Management Plan and Project Control System (PCS), the PC will execute project management for their assigned areas. They will operate 'hand in glove' with the Control Account Managers (CAMs) for their assigned areas and employ the full range of Project Management disciplines using the MAPS Controls principles suitable to an Earned Value Management (EVM) system. This will include: supporting the development and maintenance of the Work Breakdown Structure, Organisational Breakdown Structure and Responsibility Assignment Matrix, maintenance of Control Account Plans, ongoing maintenance and management of schedules within the Primavera toolset, performance data using Deltek Cobra (subject to experience) use of company finance and purchasing systems to present reliable cost relating to their assigned areas, implementing and reporting on EVM, providing timely and reliable management reports (and supporting reviews) as required by all stakeholders, support the management of Risks and Opportunities within their assigned areas - and the management, control and embodiment of changes as they impact schedule and costs.
Ensure maintenance of the WBS/OBS, RAM (hours)/ RAM (£), WBS Dictionary, Booking Codes, Control Account Plans;
Drive the business rhythm ensuring all deliverables are achieved on time for areas of responsibility
Maintenance of CAM schedules (Primavera plans);
Ongoing monthly progress with CAMs - including progressing schedules, updating ETCs, updating Risk, Opportunities and change requests (as required), ensuring Actuals captured;
Support CAM Reviews and provide data sufficient to support management decision and direction. Determine own management recommendations and solutions and be pro-active in championing your views and learning from others;
Promote the profile of the project management team and ensure personal development to provide expected service levels to the programme.
Candidates will have demonstrable application of Project Management Techniques/Processes and Earned Value, be experienced users of Primavera and Cobra in an integrated project control environment
Knowledge of Project Control Systems as applied to large projects/programmes is also required
Knowledge of Air Traffic Management processes and familiarity with SAP or Oracle business systems are preferred.

- Achievement or undertaking of project management qualifications or training - such as APM Project Risk Management Certificates, for example.

- Honours degree in an engineering, scientific, business or commercial discipline, or equivalent.
- IPMA Level D.
- Formal training/certification in the use of Primavera.
- Other qualifications from a relevant management accreditation organisation (e.g. NDIA, CMII).
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
