Project Control & Assurance Manager with a defence background required to lead and direct a team of planners to ensure the quality and accuracy of the project schedules and project requirements are met.
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
Support and provide guidance on CAM Schedule development and progress updates; liaising with the Project Controllers/Planners for Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) updates. Ensuring data availability, integrity and quality are maintained.
Support CAMs to create and maintain EVM/EVA data for performance and variance reporting, so that the CAMs can be held to account for delivery of their Project and Business commitments.
Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the programme, ensuring the correct level of logic is incorporated to support all project requirements.
Participate in the risk evaluation process to enable schedule and cost risk analysis.
Maintain all project baseline data and ensure that strict configuration and change control is employed.
Undertake audits to monitor adherence to Project Control & Assurance processes and procedures.
Assist project management with Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) and System Demonstration Reviews (SDR) preparation and outcomes.
Analysis of performance; applying Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology (where applicable), developing the Cost Performance Reports (CPR) Identify deviations from baseline Project Control positions and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Support the development of project management information architecture, functionality and tools (whilst maintaining, wherever possible, commonality across wider Enterprise) to enable monitoring, control and reporting for effective management of baseline and variances, against EVM criteria.
To undertake continuous improvement initiatives for the delivery of the People, Processes and Tools across the Project to enable a Project Control and Assurance capability through consistent, robust and structured arrangements.
Support the collation of bid documentation, financial & planning of the bid proposals.
In conjunction with the wider PMO, prepare, maintain, analyse and provide Project Management Information to enable the monitoring and control of the project (inclusive of Key Performance Indicators, Milestones, Deliverables and Dependencies).
To promote and represent the business in a professional and responsible manner.
Create, update and implement frameworks, policies, strategies, procedures, governance and toolsets through stakeholder engagement, management and communication.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences
Significant knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Project and Word) and Primavera P6.
Professional working knowledge of project management and planning software tools Significant experience with EVM systems, performance metrics, analysis and reporting.
Good understanding of risk management and schedule risk analysis.
The post holder should be capable of working professionally, interacting across multiple stakeholders, providing a project management focus.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external staff, at all levels within the Submarine Enterprise, including senior management.
Good analytical skills and the ability to think logically are essential attributes.
A working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Information Management System(s) would be an advantage.
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline with relevant experience or HNC/HND qualified with significant relevant experience.
Hold a Project Management Qualification such as Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification or PRINCE2.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
