Project Accountant; based in Preston; 6 month contract; £32.00 LTD per hour.

We are looking to recruit a Project Accountant to work for a large aerospace/manufacturing company based near Preston.

Working as part of a Finance and Project Team within the UK/Fr, Turkey and Engineering business area the successful candidate will undertake the following duties:-

Report the monthly actuals across the investment contracts at the monthly investment review
Ensure all Internal Investment proposals are within validity with the forward forecast understood
To support the month end activities across the UK/Fr, Turkey and Engineering Services areas of business
Collate monthly reports for review with Management
Other ad-hoc activities to support the Project Teams (including bid activities for new business)
To co-ordinate and manage the investment activities in the UK/Fr and International area of the business. This will ensure the actuals are being reported monthly, and will involve working with the teams to ensure all IEPs and forecasting are understood and accurate.
The role will also involve providing general support to the UK/Fr, Turkey and Engineering Services areas in key monthly activities which include recognition of revenue and other monthly journals, supporting the balance sheet process and collating information for management reviews.


Skills and Experience:

Good IT and spreadsheet skills. Good working knowledge of all relevant software financial packages would also be an advantage e.g. BaaN, SAP, TM01.
Able to effectively communicate financial information, legibly and succinctly to individuals and groups outside the function.
Able to identify, in standard areas, problems and trends which are likely to cause future problems/issues.
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of relevant analytical techniques e.g. Variance Analysis.
Must be able to work on their own initiative.
Part qualified [CIMA] Level 3 is essential.
