We are currently looking for a Project Accountant for a 6-month contract in Portsmouth

Key Responsibilities

- Ensuring the E2E processes, controls and risks are understood, documented and validated. Escalate issues and make recommendation for improvements
- Risk Control Framework, to be developed, embedded and monitored
- Reviewing and challenging KPIs and Measures - ensure where KPI's highlight issues or control weaknesses the processes are reassessed for adequacy and recommend improvements. Ensure KPI's measured adequately cover all key risks
- Knowledge expert re processes - where the team are proposing system and process improvements provide support and guidance on the E2E processes making sure impacts are considered fully. This will include support for testing and implementation of automated solutions
- Facilitate continuous improvement process in Finance - covering identification of areas for continuous improvement, implementing solutions and support/guidance of teams, driving process forward
- Knowledge expert re policies - covering support of Accounting Finance Manual to Group Finance. This will include responsibility for monitoring and ensuring completeness of all RTR key policies and processes. This will also ensure that the principals applied meet the suggested Internal Audit standards and any improvements in processes are flagged to ensure optimal processes and efficiencies are applied
- Challenge and review the processes making sure the team understand the processes and risks. Review adequacy of controls and recommend improvements
- Advise on system/process improvement and project change management


- Fully Qualified CIMA or equivalent (ACA, ACCA) with 2-5 years post qualification experience.
- In-depth understanding of processes and reporting
- Effective communication and influencing skills
- Strong analytical background
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work as part of fast paced team and deliver to tight deadlines inc. prioritisation of workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of SAP GL / SAP sub systems

- Experience with HFM and Onestream
- Internal audit/ control environment
- Exposure to change management environment and methodologies such as Prince2/Lean/DMAIC etc
