Project Accountant; Location: Crawley; Duration:3-6 months; 16.50ph paye

We are looking to recruit a temporary Project Accountant to work at our client's site based inn Crawley.
The successful person individual to work within the TTS team involved in month end accounting and reporting to support the efficient delivery of key business information. The role will provide great exposure to both project accounting and financial accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Business Controller and their team with:
Liaising with Project Managers analysing the incurred and forecast costs, identifying deviations to budget.
Maintaining accurate records with regard to orders, sales, backlog and cash.
Working closely with the Project Managers, ensuring integrity of cost incurred and forecasts during the EAC process.
Analyse variances associated with performance and rate changes.
Keep accurate records for contracts with foreign exchange guarantees have been put in place.
Working to tight deadlines ensuring integrity and consistency of data entered into the corporate reporting tool
Provide accurate and current cash forecasts, working with the Shared Accounting Service (SAS incl. finance hub and treasury department as appropriate).
Preparation of information relating to budgets and forecasts (SITCOM, MYB, MB etc.)
Assist with the preparation of the month end result the subsequent reporting thereof (e.g Finance Management Pack)
Support the Business Controller and their team by entering accruals and transacting revenue recognition.
Process entries into Corporate reporting tool (currently Magnitude)
Assist in the maintenance and development of ICQ's
Assist with reporting to other stakeholders outside of company
Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts
Assist with the preparation of the tax pack
Prepare VAT returns for submission to HMRC
Ensure adherence to Chorus 2.0

Key Skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills used primarily internally and potentially externally - both verbal and written
Ability to operate under pressure and to strict deadlines
Good organisational skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages Working knowledge of Oracle would be beneficial

Knowledge and Experience:

Financial Accounting knowledge.
Experience and confidence in using Microsoft Excel and experience in Access and Word.
Experience of monthly financial reporting against tight deadlines.
Financial planning, forecasting and budgeting.
Experience in Oracle.
Be prepared for any challenge that may arise.
Experience/knowledge in developing new ideas and improvements to working procedures
Candidate to be at least part qualified.
