Programme Manager with demonstrable experience in Programme Management within the aerospace industry is required. Our client is a globally renowned engineering company, with worldwide operations in more than 30 countries, and sites specializing in: automotive, aerospace, land systems and powder metallurgy. The Luton site sits within the Aerospace Group and is a world leader in the production of transparencies and ice protection systems for both civil and military markets.

The role involves but is not limited to the following:

Providing leadership to each Programme's multidisciplinary programme team (IPT) to ensure the timely execution and delivery of the programme, to specification and within agreed budgets. Key within this responsibility is the ability to pro-actively identify and mitigate any risks to programme performance.

Responsible for execution of the contract within time, quality and budget and to comply with all contractual requirements. The Programme Manager develops a programme plan and charter which forms the programme team within the boundaries of the allocated budgets. The Programme Manager reports on a series of KPI's and takes measures in case of deviations. This role has sole responsible for the project results, PLP, cash flow and working capital targets. Also making the required arrangements with the manufacturing organization.

Own the programme's PLP and constantly strive towards continuous cost downs; this includes manufacturing hour reduction projects, BOM savings and driving cost of poor quality (Scrap/Rework/NRFT) to zero.

Through the life cycle of the programme (including changes), ensuring that the execution is in full compliance with the contract

Responsible for negotiating medium level changes and claims during the execution phase

Translating the budget objectives into targets and continuously monitor the progress on the targets. Targets are focused on improvements/ affordability's on labour spent, reduction on procurement costs, reducing quality costs and stabilizing processes in the execution.

Representing the customer within the Site, being the voice of the customer

Supporting the Head of Programmes in defining the vision, strategy, objectives, operational plan and budget for his account to optimize cash flow, profitability and growth.

Ensuring deployment of the project management standards, policies and procedures in their IPT's

Chairing the CCB, driving all POI actions are completed to an acceptable standard to ensure that change is managed in a controlled manner.

Actively executing Risk Management to control and mitigate the risk

Supporting Head of Programmes in the proposal process for follow on and new business and accept the business case for execution once contracted.

Forecast and report programme financials including sales revenue and profitability accurately. This will be reported out to various levels of seniority from local site management up to the Executive team.

Day to day people management including activities such as training and career development absence management, performance management, development of PVD system, PDP, recruitment etc.

Ensure that all employees are fully conversant and compliant with the Company's Health and Safety policies. Ensure that all relevant Health and Safety legislation is effectively implemented and managed.

The Programme Manager will have a solid technical background in the international high tech assembly industry (aviation, aerospace, automotive, shipping) and extensive and successful experience with managing large and complex departments, programs or teams on a tactical / strategic level.
