Production Planner qualified to degree level or equivalent and/or at least 5 years' experience working in a multi-disciplined manufacturing environment with complex products required by our Winfrith based defence client.
The role is to start ASAP and will initially involve remote working with 1 - 2 days/fortnight on site.
The Production Planner will be responsible to the Head of Production Planning, whilst working closely with the Head of Production and other stakeholders across the business as required. The role involves but is not limited to the following:
To review demand and generate an agreed supply plan (for assigned projects), this will also include working with the Head of Production Planning and Head of Production in maintaining the overall Capacity Plan at an acceptable level of accuracy.
Key stakeholders to be kept appraised of forecasts, costs and any issues could affect schedule or agreed budgets.
Working closely with other P&I staff, support the generation of bids by providing accurate resource and schedule estimates in a timely fashion.
To fully understand Project requirements that have a dependency on Production and the wider P&I division as appropriate. To cascade requirements out to the respective teams / personnel as appropriate to ensure all are aware of roles, responsibilities and expectations in delivering the project(s).
To ensure routes and BoM's are maintained at an agreed level of accuracy. Where they fall outside of agreed levels of accuracy flag to the relevant team(s) for review and updating.
Knowledge, skills and personal qualities required
Support projects with the objectives of delivery to time, cost, and quality and liaise with internal customers as required.
Able to interpret design drawings and understand product specification documents.
Experience with MS Project, Microsoft Dynamics AX (MRP) and production planning tools is essential.
Competent with MS Office, particularly Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
To work closely with various key stakeholders across the wider business in delivering assigned projects.
Able to generate and analyse production performance against targets.
Ability to understand and manage complex schedules with multiple influences.
Good listening, presentation and negotiating skills.
Have a drive and an ability for continuous improvement through process development.
Possess a working knowledge of ISO 9000 requirements in a production environment.
Self-motivating and able to work unsupervised.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
