Job Description

An experienced Assurance Engineer is required to join the existing Quality Assurance team to provide PA programme management - working with Project Managers, Design/Development teams, and Operations - on Space industry related Projects. The candidate should have a good working knowledge of Space Product Assurance and be familiar with working within relevant industry standards, e.g. ECSS, and be able to act as an effective member of the Space programme delivery team; planning and delivering all the Product Assurance requirements and leading the PA related customer interfaces. In a wider Product Assurance role, the candidate will have experience of supporting project teams on all aspects of product assurance, ensuring product quality and the integrity of our design and manufacturing processes. Typically would manage specific work packages within projects.

The candidate should have a good working knowledge of data analysis techniques, and be able to demonstrate successful problem solving and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibility Areas

Ensure all customer requirements are satisfied by effective Product Assurance programme management for Space Projects. Generate PA plans, progress reports and MIP reports

Planning and reporting of Qualification and Reliability Programmes.

Support Projects and Design to resolve Assurance issues, including reports and presentations to management and cross functional teams.

Management of non-conformance analysis and reporting.

Ensure compliance to regulatory and legal requirement.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge

Educated to HND level or equivalent in relevant science or engineering subject.

Skills & Knowledge

Able to lead Product Assurance activities within Space projects. Familiar with the requirements of the Space industry.

Familiar with Quality tools and techniques - (D)FMEA, Root cause analysis eg 8D , statistical techniques.

Effective and accurate communicator - verbal and written.

Experience in a relevant manufacturing based industry (for example - electronics, semiconductor, optical packaging, medical, automotive, Space or defence Effective communicator to all levels of the business ISO9001 Experience (AS9100 preferred)

Desirable

Working knowledge of cleanliness and contamination control methods. Business improvement within a design/manufacturing industry.

Reliability prediction to MIL handbook or equivalent.
