Title: Procurement Manager

Location: Middlewich

Salary: Competitive

Job overview

Excellent opportunity to join a fantastic team.

Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE) is the UKs sole producer of sodium carbonate (soda ash) and sodium bicarbonate, as well as the market leading producer of white salt.

TCE serves more than 1,000 customers worldwide and has hundreds of active suppliers, so there is a constant focus on enhanced governance, systems development and reporting excellence.

We are currently looking for an inspirational Procurement Manager to take ownership of our Middlewich site. This high-profile position will enjoy high levels of autonomy and further growth potential. This exciting job opportunity will appeal to a Senior Procurement professional with the ability to think and act as a true ambassador for procurement across the organisation who can raise both levels of capability and engagement with the team.

Our business is complex, so the right candidate will need to be able to multitask across our broad portfolio of categories including Mechanical, Electrical, MRO and site services. As a key strategic driver for procurement, you will have the confidence to work independently and demonstrate a drive to succeed. You will have the ability to build and develop effective relationships with key internal stakeholders demonstrating a full understanding of their drivers & requirements and identifying and providing appropriate support & solutions.

You will be involved in the negotiations with key suppliers across a broad category spend portfolio and will have the ability to influence decision makers, and therefore a variety of influencing skills will be needed.

Steeped in best-in-class procurement experience, you will have experience of managing a variety of spend areas (direct and indirect). With exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills, you will ideally be CIPS qualified and have the credibility and gravitas to secure buy-in and embed best-practice procurement.

Whilst experience in Manufacturing and particularly chemicals would be an advantage, the skills and demonstrable behaviours of the successful candidate are more important. You will be responsible for both direct and indirect spend and experience of direct sourcing would be beneficial.

If you feel you have the right experience, and would like an informal chat about the role, please contact Jack Dawkins or Ian Hull at Morson Talent who is the sole agency dealing with this role. Jack.Dawkins@morson /
