We are looking for an experienced PRINCIPAL ENGINEER to integrate within the CE and I design team.
The successful Candidate will provide support to the RAP workstreams, and work under the CE and I Lead Engineer.
The current CE and I team is split between Risley and Westlakes, and the work will involve coordination between both locations. The position can be based either in Allday House, Risley or in Pillar House, Westlakes.
The work will involve the production of CE and I designs in line with project requirements, as well as providing close liaison and support to all other disciplines and the Safety Case team.
The work will involve close liaison with the existing plant operators and maintainers, and the candidate will be expected to make numerous visits to the Sellafield site, including active areas, which will include completing site and building inductions.
Previous experience of working within existing Sellafield plants is important, but not essential.
The candidate should have at least 2 years experience in a similar role, and should be a Chartered Engineer, or working towards gaining professional status.
They should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
The ability to work with minimal supervision.
Can produce and maintain key deliverable documents/reports, calculations, schedules, drawings etc. to programme and appropriate quality.
Can liaise and coordinate with other design disciplines and plant engineering in the preliminary detail design process.
Can deputise for the workstream CE and I Lead Engineer.
Experience and ability to guide younger or less experienced engineers.
Experience in managing a team of CE and I design staff.
Experience in checking design deliverables.
Familiarity in using typical project metrics to evaluate and report design progress.
Can support the CE and I design team in meetings and reviews.
Experience in design and installation in accordance with the IET 18th edition BS7671
Conversant with existing CAE tools e.g. Auto CAD, CAESAR, PDMS
The position is subject to the ability of the candidate to obtain as a minimum baseline personnel security standard clearance and obtain a Sellafield P1 or P4 pass.
The role holder must either hold SC clearance or have started their application, with the belief of the employer that there should be no grounds for this level of clearance to be denied.
