This individual will be a Chartered member of the IMechE, IChemE, ImarEST or RINA with demonstrable success within the Oil and Gas or Marine Industries. A thorough understanding of UKCS regulatory requirements will be essential, and the candidate must be fully capable of providing specialist guidance within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Core responsibilities include: * System Sizing calculations: utilities consumption, pressure drops, pump and valve sizing * Pipework and machinery layouts * P&ID design for Class Approval * Piping specifications * Specifications for mechanical equipment: boilers, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, tanks, valves etc Significant experience in one or more of the following design areas will be essential * Steam Systems and boilers * Hydraulics(valve control) system * Cargo handling systems and offloading reels * Flare tower * FW/DO loading reels * Hawser and Mooring winches Principal Engineer Main Purpose A Principal Engineer will provide decisive authoritative competent leadership in the delivery of engineering and technical activities through the application of domain knowledge and experience. Main Tasks and Activities * Ability to plan, lead and control engineering processes and activities to ensure delivery to agreed programme and budget. * Ensure task and project risks are communicated and managed appropriately. * As assigned fulfil role as Engineering Lead for complex multi discipline tasks and projects. * Capable of determining applicability of regulations and standards, and contributing to the development of regulatory and standards frameworks. * Ensure effective engineering governance in assigned areas, in accordance with the design lifecycle. * Modification of business processes, definition and implementation of local processes as required to meet the business needs. * Contribute/lead Project Safety Assessment process. * Provide support to the Project Manager for the planning, control and delivery of packages of engineering work. * Support the identification of business opportunities and lead the preparation of bids, in area(s) of expertise, to facilitate the development of successful bids. * Develop engineering approaches, tools and standards (in discipline) and ensure they are maintained. * Supply technical understanding and support in areas of own expertise, promoting a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation. * Produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports, in accordance with project requirements. * Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working, and their development. * As assigned fulfil the role of Technical Authority for complex multi discipline tasks and projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Engineering or Science degree qualification in relevant discipline, with significant demonstrable experience or HND qualified with significant demonstrable engineering experience and capability Chartered Engineer and Corporate Member of a relevant Learned Institution, or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.
