Principal Enrichment Plant Engineer

The person:
The successful candidate must have the below experience:
• Be an experienced manager of multi-disciplinary teams with an appreciation of disciplines outside of own specific discipline.
• Be trained/qualified as a C&I, process or mechanical engineering background
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a technical engineering position in a highly regulated industry
• Relevant experience of supervising/managing professional engineering staff
• Experience of working in a fast paced working environment whilst ensuring work is carried out safely and to a high quality.
• Design Authority or equivalent for engineering changes in relevant discipline is preferred.
• Good communicator and ability to create strong networks to enhance effectiveness and share knowledge
• Good negotiator and influencer
• Good understanding of plant systems and processes
• Good team leader and motivator
• Strong problem solving skills
• Willing to take the lead when challenges occur
• Ability to look for ways to do things better, faster and more efficiently
• Good understanding of international and UK standards relating to engineering and design related to discipline-specific engineering within the nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry ( e.g. Oil, Gas, chemical)
• Able to make risk based engineering judgements
• Sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
• Excellent IT skills including Windows and Microsoft applications
• Ability to assess problems, feasibility and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent communication, reporting, presentation, negotiation and customer facing skills.
• Sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation and Management of Change Procedures

The role:
To support the business by being accountable for plant asset health. This position will involve working collaboratively with plant operational specialists, the maintenance team, and leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team of approximately 7-10 direct reports responsible for asset health. This role will prioritise and implement solutions to engineering issues to ensure: statutory regulatory and safety requirements are met plant reliability targets are delivered asset lifeplans are in place for all equipment whilst ensuring compliance with applicable engineering procedures, standards and specifications.

This is a management position accountable to deliver a capable high performing team of front line engineers to effectively support the UUK operation in the allocated plant area.

Location:
The role will be based near Ellesmere Port. Free parking is available and there is a train station a few metres away from site with frequent trains to Chester or the Wirral.
