Morson International are supporting one of the markets leading Engineering Consultancies to source an outstanding Highways professional in the role of Principal Designer.

You will be engaged on a contract basis for a duration of 12 months, with distinct potential to take on a permanent position with the company if it suits both parties.

The role is based in Reading and will be carrying out work on a roundabout upgrade project as part of the Collaborative Delivery Framework for Highways England.

You will be required to plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase whilst coordinating matters relating to Health and Safety during the pre-construction phase of the project.

You will be the main interface with the Principal Contractor on the project during this phase. This will include providing pre-construction information promptly and in a convenient form and assisting them throughout the project in relation to the planning, management and monitoring of the construction phase.

From a supervisory perspective, the role will also encompass ensuring that Designers on the project are carrying out their duties to a satisfactory level and that all persons working in relation to this project.

To carry out this role you will need to be proficient with CDM regulations, be an incorporated or Chartered Engineer and should have carried out a Management role during the design phase of Highways England projects on behalf of a Consultancy.
