MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

· Procure and organise Plant Equipment primarily from the Plant fleet or secondarily from external supply chain - delivering best in class for both quality and value

· Ensure appropriate Hire Rate are maintained to sufficiently sustain profit Ensure all externally hired items are off hired when internal items become available, ensuring maximum product utilisation

· Ensure hire team works together as one unit and follows hire processes & procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (generic across all functions)

SHESQ

· Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with

the SHSEQ department.

· Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company's Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements.

· Develop all staff to work in a safe and legal environment.

· Ensure reporting of Health & Safety incidents in line with Group expectation (2-1-2).

· Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements

· Promote and encourage a positive attitude to Health & Safety.

· Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.

Hire Management & People

· Ensure that all equipment hire requests are primarily sourced from the core fleet of equipment in conjunction with the Asset Manager;

· Ensure good working relationships are maintained between the plant hire office and sites, ensuring to seek improvement of the operations and to control costs.

· Maintain effective reporting lines to management: update the Hire Manager on key activities.

· Attend and contribute to regular Plant Meetings.

· Promote and refresh the company Culture Development Programme.

· Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.

· Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements

· Maintain standards of dress and quality of self and workers to promote a professional organization

· Promote and encourage a positive attitude to Health & Safety.

· Manage the performance of all employees (including in-plants). Monitor timekeeping and attendance and escalate/instigate disciplinary procedures where appropriate.

· Complete on request a holiday list for staff in your section, ensuring of adequate cover at all times.

· Supervise / mentor staff members with the ability to encourage the development of up and coming team members.

· Manage the work of others ensuring quality, time and productivity.

· Ensure best value is achieved in the market place

· Ensure company supplier agreements / frameworks are adhered to.

· Liaise with purchase ledger accounts and projects to resolve all invoice queries

· Complete and follow the company PDR system for staff under your control.

· Undertake all works required as directed by the Hire Manager
