Job Title: Permanent Recruiter
Location: 2nd Floor, 1000 Lakeside, Portsmouth PO6 3EN
Duration: Start ASAP FOR 3 months
Hours: 37.5 per week

We are currently looking for an experienced Recruiter for one of our key clients in Portsmouth. The role is a contract position to cover maternity leave and will run initially for a duration of 3 months.

The successful candidate will be an all-rounder who is able to deal with all types of permanent recruitment in a fast paced environment. You will be an effective communicator with the ability deal with both internal and external stakeholders, sometimes in challenging situations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a professional, high quality and cost effective service to the internal client
  • Working collaboratively with hiring managers through the whole spectrum of the recruitment process
  • Working with Hiring Managers to define recruitment requirements and agree recruitment plans and sourcing strategies
  • Have a pipeline of recruitment vacancies which have been ratified with the business and enable reactive and proactive recruitment activity
  • Maintaining vacancies on internet and intranet
  • Carry out screening of candidates as required
  • Identifying the appropriate sourcing mechanisms and able to demonstrate a return on investment
  • Creating shortlists of candidates for Hiring Managers to progress to interview stage
  • Arranging interviews with candidates
  • Negotiating Terms & Conditions including remuneration package with successful candidates
  • Manage candidate care throughout the process including overseeing issue of offer letter
  • Provide relevant details to the HR Starters Team in order to generate contract of employment
  • Participation in special projects e.g. Graduate recruitment
  • Administration duties

Required Experience:

  • Significant recruitment experience in a targeted environment
  • Up to date working knowledge of recruitment legislation and how it impacts the recruitment process
  • Short listing and telephone interviewing experience
  • Interviewing experience - particularly in the use of various selection methodology
  • Strong evidence of working knowledge of running successful attraction campaigns
  • Knowledge of potential sourcing channels and most effective routes for hiring
  • Extensive use of recruitment software and databases
  • Ability to create job specifications and adverts
  • Demonstrable track record of working in partnership with a business to deliver an in house recruitment model
  • Ethos of continuous improvement regarding processes, systems and line manager engagement

Desirable Experience:

  • Managing a commercial recruitment desk with a solid billing record
  • Knowledge of the Education and Training markets
  • LinkedIn knowledge and ability to navigate
