Or Client has an immediate requirement for an Oracle Apex developer to join a small but growing team of developers, data scientists and UX designers within the Support and Service Solutions (S3) line of business. S3 operates across all of the main UK sites, providing ground-breaking and invaluable support solutions to our customers and is part of the Airborne and Space Systems Division.
The team is in the early stages of an ambitious and exciting digitisation project, aimed at not only improving the effectiveness of current business, but also allowing creation of new opportunities, with the potential to grow across the company and globally.
Outline Job Specification
You'll be involved in a combination of:
Front-end development - working with other members of the team to take the customer's user stories, turn them into requirements and use them to develop Oracle APEX based applications that you will then test with the team and the customer.
Back-end development - creating the back-end data services and repositories that allow different data sources to be amalgamated and accessed by our customers when they need it.
To develop new user functionality in the established house-style
Integrate data from different sources to create information insights
Adapt and modify the applications to improve functionality and usability
Propose improvements that would enhance the user experience
Documentation and configuration management of the design
Ensure re-use and modularity across any solutions proposed
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:
You will be expected to demonstrate:
Extensive knowledge of the Application Express (APEX) 5 development system as used on Oracle 12C, and experience as an APEX developer creating applications for Oracle 11 or 12C
Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL including the generation of packages
Ability to write well documented, high quality, supportable applications
Self-motivation with an aptitude for problem solving and an ability to drive difficult issues to conclusion
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Good working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
