Our client a leading Oil & Gas Operator are seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor for either a Permanent or Long-Term Contract opportunity based in Aberdeen.

Position Overview

The Occupational Safety Advisor will perform the day to day tasks to support health and safety activity across the assigned asset group, under the direction of HSE Lead

Accountabilities

Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations, company procedures and best practice
Work proactively with the onshore and offshore teams to provide timely and accurate health and safety advice
Support & promote the health and safety element of the SEMS across the business
Actively seek areas for health and safety improvement and development sustainable efficient solutions
Follow and comply with company Golden Rules, Procedures, & Policies and hold others to account to do the same

Key Duties

Provide H&S related information, advice, training and support
Monitor, maintain, review and develop HSE processes and procedures
Participate and facilitate within incident investigation so that lessons can be learnt and are effectively communicated across other sites and groups
Provide support to HSE Lead
Support and participate in SEMS audits
Monitor compliance with relevant company-wide procedures and standards
Monitor quality of Synergi incident reports and provide incident summaries
Monitor progress and completion of corrective actions arising from site related synergi cases
Record, measure and trend analysis of H&S performance in line with KPI's
Support risk assessment activities
Develop safety alerts, bulletins and lesson learned
Review data and analyse trends to determine insights and interventions to drive HSE improvement
Fulfil role of out of hours contact as required

Education Attainment & Accreditation

Relevant safety qualification, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, or considerable technical experience in a similar role

Professional Skills & Experience
Well rounded work experience preferred, with significant direct experience in either oil & gas operations or onshore support role closely linked to oil & gas operations
Previous experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in the oil and gas industry
Knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory regime
Appreciation of Human Factors and Major Accident Hazards (Causation and Prevention)
