The post holder will be responsible for delivering Naval Specialist Training (NST) at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS). Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for delivery of common content for all NST streams and Boatswains Mate stream specific content.
The post holder is responsible for:
Delivering Naval Specialty Training curriculum (including relevant elements of Basic Skills
Training), and, in particular, Boatswains Mate specific elements.
Supporting invigilation activities for assessments.
Supporting remedial training activities.
Writing assessment materials.
Supporting the continuous improvement of courseware materials and media.
Writing cadet reports as required to meet customer requirements.
The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and
The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by their line
manager, which aligns with Company business.
The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.
The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by the NST Senior Instructor which aligns with Company business.
The post holder must:
Have a minimum of IELTS 5.0 for non-native English language speakers.
Be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or an industry equivalent.
Have 1 year's recent instructional experience.
Have successfully completed an approved / accredited Instructional Techniques course.
Have a minimum of 3 years' experience performing the role of Boatswains Mate.
Have an RYA Powerboat Instructor License or equivalent.
The post holder should:
Have completed Forecastle Train the Trainer course.
