Morson International working with a global consultancy who are looking for a NLP Expert to join their team in Luxembourg. This is a long term contract, initial contract for 1 year with the chance of extending for a number of times. Rate depending on experience.

Job Description:
- Application of advanced data analysis and machine learning techniques, including _deep learning_ based on neural models, to MT-related tasks, including, but not limited to domain adaptation
- Acquisition and management of data sources that are helpful to improve MT performance and quality, such as parallel, comparable, and monolingual corpora (including data crawled from the Web or artificial parallel corpora via backtranslation)
- Acquisition and management of data sources for building improved pre- and post-processing tools (e.g. morphological and syntactic analysis, re-ordering, rescoring, quality estimation)
- Consulting the development team on integrating these additional data sources into a working MT solution on a software level
- Consulting on MT quality improvements assessing the impact of changes to the MT engines on MT quality and other performance criteria
- Participation in functional working groups and progress meetings
- Contribution to and analysis of implementations made to cover specific needs of customers, for example through the creation of domain-specific MT engines or specific algorithms
- Analysis of benefits and risks of such changes concerning the overall quality of the CEF eTranslation service.


- Master + minimum 11 years of experience in the area of natural language processing or MT
- In-depth knowledge of setting up and evaluating MT software, including testing methodologies and tools, such as automatic quality metrics (BLEU scores and similar) and human evaluation of MT quality
- Good knowledge of natural language processing systems lifecycle and agile software development methodologies
- Knowledge of and ability to apply MT-specific quality standards
- Experience in application of _deep learning_ methods to data analysis and prediction, such as neural network toolkits like TensorFlow, Torch, or similar will be considered as asset
- Experience with information extraction and machine learning techniques will be considered as asset
- Experience with optimisation and tuning of SMT systems and statistical language modelling will be considered as asset
- Good knowledge of Linux and scripting languages, preferably Python and Perl will be considered as asset
- Knowledge of XML, C, Java will be considered as asset
- Experience with statistical MT systems, preferably Moses will be considered as asset
- Experience with distributed computing (cloud or cluster computing) will be considered as asset
- Experience with rule-based MT systems will be considered as asset
- Good knowledge of English
