Our Filton Client has a requirement for NC Programmer to undertake the below contract role.


To provide Manufacturing Engineering (ME) support through NC programming to the business to enable the achievement of Business targets. Mainly focused around the resolution of cell related NC programme issues related to non- conformance reduction, establishing the most cost efficient programming method across all parts and the introduction of new projects/modifications. All NC activities will ensure environmental compliance through ISO 14001 AND 18001.


Individually responsible for one or more of the following at any one time: Cell related NC programming issues To determine the most effective and economical method of manufacture via the machine NC programme.

To compile NC programming schedules for a defined area and assist with the definition of tooling requirements for the introduction of new and existing products.

The successful applicant will also be individually responsible and accountable for the definition, implementation and reporting of key projects and/or continuous improvement programmes, within a defined area of NC responsibility.

Key interfaces and relationships will be maintained with a number of internal and external (Customer/supplier) bodies, at levels encompassing unskilled operators, through to senior management.

All tasks undertaken will be addressed in line with defined M.E. procedures, to achieve challenging targets.

Points of contact will be made with representatives outside of GKN, including suppliers, consultants and controlling authorities.


Qualification to HNC/Degree level, unless can demonstrate a clear ability, and a number of year's experience, in relation to the anticipated position.

Significant experience in the use of CATIA V5 for NC programming is essential.

Must have significant manufacturing experience in a production environment particular experience in NC machine tools is essential.

Recognised Manufacturing Engineering Training although training will be provided Previous LEAN experience principles is preferred.

A number of year's experience within an Aerospace or similar Engineering-based Company would be advantageous.

Ability to use Microsoft office and project is essential Acts as a Team Player at all times.

Ability to work under own initiative within a defined programme and targets.

Communication skills must be exemplary. Problem solving techniques
