£55.85 per hour umbrella / £47.96 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
Max 2 consecutive days per fortnight on-site plus ad hoc workshops, supplier / customer meetings etc as required and agreed with reasonable notice.
Job Role:
- To develop and enact the model-based systems engineering activities in the concept phase of a major System of Systems programme.
- To undertake systems architectural modelling for System of Systems design level, in
collaboration with engineers of other disciplines and key customer representatives.
- To provide subject matter expertise support on Model Based Systems Engineering.
- To liaise with internal and external stakeholders to mature systems and system supporting
documentation.
- To support the development of Systems Engineering Management Plans and similar
strategy and implementation documents, and the supporting governance and assurance
framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and adaption of model based systems engineering approach to meet systems engineering, programme and customer needs.
- Development and enactment of model based systems engineering processes, guidance and management plans.
- Execution of systems modelling activities with limited supervision.
- Engaging with customers and stakeholders on specific technical matters.
- Working as part of a technical team in support of project objectives.
- Produce technical documentation in support of work carried out.
- Plans and structures own work under direction of project leadership.
- Delivery and progress reporting to senior technical and project staff.
- Escalates significant problems and issues encountered with senior staff.
- Provide subject matter expertise, consultancy and guidance to Engineering Management on MBSE.
- Supporting and governing other systems and subsystems teams as a Subject Matter Expert on Model Based Systems Engineering.
Key Attributes:
- Degree qualified in relevant STEM subject or demonstrable experience of working as a systems engineer in complex projects.
- Experience in Systems Engineering in particular for complex systems of systems.
- Experience developing and adapting Model Based Systems Engineering activities to meet programme and customer needs.
- Experience in the application of Model Based Systems Engineering tools, techniques and notations.
- Experience of System Architectural modelling with UML and SysML or similar.
- Awareness of architecture description frameworks (e.g. MODAF).
- Awareness of technical issues relating to MBSE including configuration control and method integration.
- Experience of using of Sparx Enterprise Architect highly desirable.
- Ability to interact and influence a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Awareness of relevant systems engineering standards such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288.
